Description

Juneau teacher Dave Haas and his third grade class worked on a Juneau History Grant project in 2001-02 to create two booklets about the Gold Creek Flume. The flume, built in the 1890s, was first used by AEL&P to power turbines, and now is a popular trail. Gold Creek Flume Stories consists of maps, drawings, interviews, and stories from locals about their flume memories. The accompanying trail guide includes photos, flume history, student drawings of local plants, a trial map, and directions to the trail.
